Nine potential first-time homebuyers will find out this weekend who will be spending the holidays in a new home.

The city will announce the winner of its give-a-way house at a ceremony Saturday in front of the 803 Georgia Ave. location.

“As a city, our job is to make sure that we’re providing a safe prosperous environment for all our residents,” said Leesburg City Commissioner John Christian, who proposed giving away the house. “Home ownership is a big plus, a positive step for any family to take toward building wealth.”
