Although home sales in Massachusetts have increased in recent months, some sellers are nevertheless having a tough time unloading their properties for reasons varying from longer “short” sales, houses priced too high, or it is a buyers’ market.

Carol Hamilton has been trying to sell her home at 163 Farrar Ave. in Worcester since January.

Ms. Hamilton has a buyer for the renovated two-bedroom property, but the sale has been pending for months.
