State alerts home sellers to new requirements
Beginning in January, Massachusetts home sellers will have to comply with new state safety regulations designed to equip older single and multi-family homes with two different kinds of smoke detectors — one best for sensing flames, the other best for sensing smoke.
And even though there is no state law requiring home owners who aren’t selling their property to have both detectors, Cape firefighters say having both ionization smoke detectors and photoelectric detectors is a good idea.
