Study shows turbines don’t affect property value

A new federal study has found wind turbines do not have a “pervasive or widespread adverse effect on the property value of nearby homes.”

The report is based on analysis of nearly 7,500 single-family home sales. A team of researchers with the Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory collected data on homes within 10 miles of 24 wind facilities in nine states; the closest home was 800 feet from a wind project.
